На днях пришел анонс от местного представительства D-Link о том, что они (именно представительство, а не “головная контора” выпустили новую прошивку для популярной IPTV-приставки DIB-120. Подробности и ссылка на прошивку есть на сайте украинского представительства D-Link, а от себя могу добавить, что наконец-то DLink сделал правильный ход. Дело в том, что в настоящее время IPTV Middleware продаются не очень, мягко говоря, хорошо.
Если в докризисные времена количество разработок постоянно увеличивалось, регулярно были пресс-релизы о запуске IPTV решений в эксплуатацию, то сейчас очень многие операторы либо свернули, либо существенно ограничили или заморозили свои проекты. IPTV на нормальном, качественном уровне – очень затратная для оператора затея, а ожидаемого снижения цен на приставки, контент, железо не произошло. Дотировать же клиента, выдавая ему бесплатно сеттопбокс даже уровня DIB-120 (который очень, очень недорогой по сравнению с конкурирующими продуктами), зачастую просто экономически бессмысленно.
В связи с этим огромное количество мелких и средних операторов остановили развитие своей IPTV-услуги на пре-middleware уровне – каналы в сетке вещаются (multicast, rtsp) и смотреть можно на компьютере с VLC. А выложить от $10000 за middleware сложно. Однозначно, инициатива D-Link придется “ко двору” – подобные операторы могут рекомендовать DIB-120 с этой прошивкой своим клиентам, формируя абонентскую базу для перехода на полноценное IPTV-решение – с “видео-по-запросу”, таймшифтингом, сетевым видеомагнитофоном и т.п.
Жаль только, что DLink это не сделал пару лет назад. Сейчас на подходе Google TV и уже пришел HTML5, которые изменят представление об IPTV – точнее, сотрут грань между Internet TV и IPTV. И это хорошо!
